Zoran Djurisic reappointed president


Zoran Djurisic will be Chairman of Montenegro Airlines for one more term. It was decided today at the session of the Board of Directors, after the General Meeting of Shareholders appointed the members of the Board of Directors, on the recommendation of the government.

Zoran Djurisic has been the chairman of the national airline from the day it was founded. He has been very successful, which was his best qualification for being re-elected president of one of the leading companies in Montenegro.

Besides Mr. Djurisic, whose term as chairman is re-confirmed, Rifat Rastoder, Dzavid Sabović, Misko Ivanovic and Milovan Milic are reappointed members of the Board of Directors.

The Assembly adopted today both the Report on Operations for 2009 and the Report of Independent Auditors for the same year.

Over the years, Montenegro Airlines has become a modern company, operating in accordance with current global standards. Over the years, the number of passengers carried by Montenegro Airlines has grown consistently, at a rate of approximately 20 % per year, so the estimated total number of passengers has reached 3,800,000.

On this occasion, Mr. Djurisic stated: "The management will stick to its plans concerning optimal financial policy, fleet modernization and new markets expansion, at a competitive level which will provide long term stable business. We will also try to justify the confidence of the Government of Montenegro and all our passengers."

By the middle of June, the fleet of Montenegro Airlines will operate one more Embraer 195. With 8 modern aircraft, the fleet of the national airline makes a significant contribution to the tourism industry of Montenegro. With this procurement, the first phase of the renewal of the fleet would be completed.

 

Zoran Djurisic was born on August 12, 1956, in Paorci, near Podgorica.

He graduated from the University of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade in 1983. He got his Master's degree at the University of Mechanical Engineering in Novi Sad in 1989 and in the same year, defended his Ph.D. thesis at the University of Mechanical Engineering in Nis.

He has been Chairman of Montenegro Airlines from the day it was founded in 1994.
