Montenegro Airlines and Embraer aircraft manufacturer started negotiations on purchase of 4th Embraer aircraft which will become a part of a fleet next year.
So far Montenegro Airlines has reconciled all obligations towards Embraer which are defined by agreements on purchasing three previous aircraft and therefore met conditions for continuance of negotiations on future fleet modernization.
This was announced today to the present journalists by Mr. Zoran Djurisic, the President of the Board of Directors of Montenegro Airlines and Sales Director of Embraer for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Patrice Candaten.
The President of Montenegro Airlines, Zoran Djurisic, said that the renewal of the fleet was necessary in order to meet the demands of deregulation of air traffic.
"Deregulation of air traffic in the European Union has already been completed, in the period that follows it will be finished in the region as well and we are preparing for it by renewing the fleet", explained Djurisic. He added that the Company planned to purchase one more, fifth Embraer in 2013, which would meet demands of domestic market.
Sales Director of Embraer for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Patrice Candaten stressed the high level of professionalism of management of Montenegro Airlines, exquisite technical reliability, as well as excellent level of maintenance of all aircraft and professionalism of Montenegrin pilots.
"Montenegro Airlines is one of the leaders regarding operating this type of aircraft and since the beginning of the cooperation in 2008 when the first Embraer 195 was delivered, we have excellent cooperation with them", said Candaten. He added that the capacity of new aircraft would be between 80 and 90 seats, and its price, according to the initial evaluations, should be about 38 million USD.
New aircraft, with lower capacity than the first three, should fly to destinations such as Zurich, Frankfurt, Vienna and Rome, and the model of its purchase was still unknown and it would be chosen during next 30 days, emphasized Mr. Djurisic. He added that since the beginning of decision-making on purchasing new aircraft four years ago till now almost 60% of the fleet had been renewed.
On this occasion Mr. Djurisic said that the process of company stabilization and restructure which had started two or three months ago was giving results. Also, "booking has improved compared with the same period last year, so we expect this year season to be successful", concluded the President of Montenegro Airlines.
