"The last year was difficult for Montenegro Airlines, but better than 2010", stated the President of Montenegro Airlines Zoran Djurisic addressing the journalists at the annual press conference held on December 30 2011 at the administration building of the company.
The national air carrier of Montenegro carried 530 000 passengers which is 10 per cent less than in the same term last year. However, by the reduction of number of flights, the company achieved significant saving.
In accordance with the demand of the Government, the management of Montenegro Airlines is oriented on the complete restructuring program which has been entrusted to the experts from the University of Economy and Technology and the specialists in aviation and finance from the European Union. The program shows that Montenegro Airlines is one of the most successful companies in the region.
Zoran Djurisic: "Unfortunately, we have not received not a single subvention, so our management is doing the maximum of efforts to overcome the crisis under these circumstances. Besides, Montenegro Airlines bought three new aircraft. The fleet was modernized, which was the priority. The management will continue to take the inner rationalization measures in order to try to save the national airline during this turbulent period."
The employees of Montenegro Airlines received 95% of the planned personal income in this year while the flight operations department received 90%. The 100% of planned payment for 2011 would be payed until January 15.
Djurisic also pointed out that the dept this year is less than the one last year owing to the more rational business approach. According to Djurisic, only with the measures of interior savings the costs were four-five million euros lower and the whole balance would be known in March next year.
