Montenegro Airlines has flown 11 thousand passengers to Nis during the past six months, announced the chairman of the company, Mr. Zoran Djurisic, at the press conference held in the company's administration building. The press conference was preceded by a meeting with the delegation from the city of Nis, led by the Mayor, Milos Simonovic.
The meeting analyzed the current cooperation, and it was concluded that it has been on a very high level during these six months and it should be continued.
"At the end of February we opened flights to Nis, and we have flown 11 thousand passengers, which is 40 percent occupancy, and we are very satisfied with the result. Since the cooperation will be continued, we expect occupancy to increase to 60 percent next year", Mr Djurisic stated and added that the region of Nis was very important for Montenegro Airlines and represented one of the strategic points for the company.
According to Djurisic, the cooperation between Montenegro Airlines and Nis will be continued in the direction of opening new direct flights on Montenegro Airlines from Nis to the European destinations.
"In the period to come, the management of Montenegro Airlines should decide on the destinations where we would operate our flights, and I hope that another round of cooperation would be on the same level as it has been until now", announced Djurisic.
The Mayor of Nis, Milos Simonovic, stated that he was very satisfied with the semi-annual cooperation with Montenegro Airlines.
"The assessments that we made at the beginning of our cooperation have proven to be right, and it was projected to have between 16 and 17 thousand passengers", Simonovic stated.
According to him, the possibility of introducing new direct flights from Nis to the European destinations will provide new opportunities for the city and the continuation of strategic cooperation with Montenegro Airlines.
