Podgorica - At exactly 40 minutes past one o’clock p.m. Embraer 190, new plane in Montenegro Airlines fleet, landed at the airport in Podgorica. This is the 4th aircraft of the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer in the fleet of the national carrier, and the first of type Embraer 190. By acquiring this plane, the national carrier has formed an impressive fleet, the youngest in the region.
Živko Banjević, Acting CEO, expressing his contentment over the arrival of aircraft, said he was proud that one of the most modern passenger planes of present-day was introduced in the national carrier’s fleet.
The procedure of acquisition, initiated in 2011, was completed with the arrival of new plane. This plane was designed in accordance with the most modern criteria and standards in aero-dynamic and technological terms, as well. It is a very efficient type and model of aircraft, characterised by the high level of cost-effectiveness, which is of vital importance in nowadays market conditions. After the acquisition of this aircraft, the Company is ready to justify the confidence of passengers and the entire public. Next to very strong market competition, especially at times when the number of low-cost companies on Montenegrin skies is growing, Montenegro Airlines succeeds in keeping the position of the leader in the region by following global trends, and carefully selected innovative and development strategies. The award "Brand Leader" of the region, presented only a couple of days ago, proves that fact", said the national carrier's Acting CEO.
"With its six operational aircraft and the youngest fleet in the region, the Company has the following objectives: launching new routes, in addition to the existing ones, conquering charter market, as well as improving all services that create Montenegro Airlines' product", said Mr. Banjevic at the arrival of new Embraer 190 at the airport in Podgorica.
"In addition to current activities, we are also committed to carrying out the emergency activities. Therefore in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Montenegro, we offered all our capacities to the Ministry of Health of Serbia in order to transport and provide care for the patients injured in towns of the Republic of Serbia", added Mr. Banjević.

Captain Draško Popović, Flight Operations Director, said that Embraer 190 is part of Embraer E-jet family recognised by its sophisticated technology and extraordinary performances. This aircraft has 112 comfortable, most modern slim seats. All other specifications of aircraft type Embraer 190 are equal to its predecessor Embraer 195, which has been operated in the fleet for the past six years and with which the pilots are very satisfied. | |
