Montenegro Airlines Breaks a Record

3124 Passengers Carried within a Single Day

Montenegro Airlines shall remember 20 July 2014 as the day when the record in the number of carried passengers was set. Namely, yesterday Montenegrin air carrier carried precisely 3124 passengers, which last recorded back in 2010.

This result represents a certain curiosity in the operations of national air carrier, having in mind that in 2010 Montenegro Airlines was performing operations with a fleet of eight aircraft, while this record was set with a fleet of six aircraft.

Last week the Board of Directors of Montenegro Airlines reviewed the Report on business performance for 2013. The national air carrier, operating six aircraft, recorded better performance by 12.74% compared to the previous year results. The operating costs were reduced by 4%, which is the result of comprehensive rationalization measures that have been implemented with an outstanding outcome.

Despite the strong competition at the market, particularly in times of low-cost companies emerging on the sky of Montenegro, Montenegro Airlines has still succeeded to carry almost 50% of the total number of visitors arriving to Montenegro by air, on the annual basis. This stands as evidence that the national air carrier succeeds to be competitive. All of the above stated fits in the concept of the majority owner, the Government of Montenegro, and relates to the availability of Montenegro as tourist destination where the air transport is of particular importance.
