Montenegro Airlines' Board of Directors held its 20th meeting

In the past three months the national air carrier made significant growth in the number of carried passengers on operations to/from Russia. In June, July and August only, 4135 more passengers were carried than in the same period last year. This particularly refers to operations to/from Tivat, where in addition to the growth in the passenger number, the higher number of operated flights and higher load factor were recorded, as well, which led to introducing additional flights in October, concluded Montenegro Airlines' Board of Directors at a recently held meeting.

According to the report prepared by the Commercial and Finance Departments, t he Board of Directors noted that, despite strong competition, the Company has managed to achieve encouraging results on flights between Montenegro and Serbia. As at 31 August, the number of passengers was 174,302, which is by 1.42% higher than in the same period last year. Also, in this period, 2,056 flights was operated, which means 38 more flights than in the same period last year, with a small fall in load factor by 1.5%.

So, for the first eight months of 2014 Montenegro Airlines operated more than 38 flights and carried 2,440 passengers more than in the same period last year on route between Montenegro and Serbia.

The number of passengers continues to grow on other routes as well, both in scheduled and code-share traffic, and new agreements on charter flights are announced to be signed.

Due to the market surveys and based on the activities carried out during summer season when the price of return ticket on route Tivat-Belgrade-Tivat in the "Sunny Airplane" was EUR 97.78, in accordance with the Conclusion of the Government of Montenegro, the Board of Directors gave instructions to continue promoting favourable offers related to additional package-holidays and favourable fares with the purpose to prolong tourist season.

The Board of Directors of Montenegro Airlines also discussed the information on the preparation of tender documentation for selling grounded aircraft type Fokker, based on the Conclusion of the Government of Montenegro on sale of the mentioned aircraft.

Namely, these are type Fokker 100 aircraft which are phased out and maintained in accordance with special programmes approved by the manufacturer Fokker Services BV.
