New Route Tivat - London - Tivat

Europe at Hand

As from 15th June 2008 the attractions as Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Thames cruises are only three hours away from Montenegro, thanks to Montenegro Airlines flight from Tivat to London.  

The flights from Tivat shall be operated two times per week, and as from 19th September another flight (3rd rotation) from Podgorica shall be introduced.  

Montenegro Airlines organized press cocktail for guests and media from Great Britain, as well as for guests and media from our country, who arrived, for this occasion by promotional flight to London. The representatives of Montenegrin Diaspora, who have lived for decades in London, were also present at the press cocktail. 

Addressing the present guests, the President of Montenegro Airlines Dr Zoran Djurisic reminded that there was a years long tendency to position the company on the market of Great Britain. “We realize that London is one of the largest administrative and business centers in the world. It is also known that Great Britain is the country whose tourists were traditionally oriented to Montenegro, therefore we hope that the opening of this route shall be of importance both for tourists and business passengers, whose number rises in Montenegro. Montenegro Airlines shall operate flights from Gatwick airport, second by size air port in the largest European metropole, which is a special advantage for (connection) transit passengers, as well”.  

Flight timetable anticipates the operations on route Tivat-London-Tivat on Wednesdays and Sundays, and the promotion of this route shall be followed by promotional tariffs. There is a range of tariffs prepared for our passengers, from the least expensive round ticket in the amount 138 EUR (no taxes included), then 199 EUR (no taxes included), to 245 EUR (no taxes included). The one-way cheapest ticket amounts 100 EUR (no taxes included). 

Dr Andrija Lompar, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Telecommunications in the Government of Montenegro expressed positive expectations that this route would become profitable in the shortest period, and that the opening of this route would attract the British investors to invest in Montenegro. 

Director of National Tourist Organization of Montenegro, Mr. Sasa Radovic, also addressed the guests, stating that the opening of the first direct route and Representative Office were the crucial events for penetration to the UK market. The participants of tourism industry of Montenegro expect the increase in the number of British tourists compared to previous year by 20%. 

The opening of new route was supported by numerous representatives of Montenegrin Diaspora in UK, who have the opportunity to travel to their homeland in only three hours for the first time.
