The reason for the press conference was the presentation of excellent business results which represent the operations of Montenegro Airlines in the first seven months of this year, ending on 31st July. Dr Zoran Djurisic, the President of the company addressed the media representatives.
Besides our capacities (to remind you, five aircraft, of which one is in Albania), we have additionaly engaged the plane of Avio-Genex, which operates under the number of Montenegro Airlines, en route Tivat – Beograd, in order to support the Montenegrin tourism.
The processed data, on a monthly basis, show that July 2005 is the month in which Montenegro Airlines made an absolute record and even surpassed its plans. Namely, compared to July, last year, when almost 54.000 passengers were transported, this year 70.000 passengers used our services, which is an excellent percentage of increase compared to the same period last year. The mentioned percentage of increase is 29% and it represents the absolute record of the company.
The previous record in the number of transported passengers was realized in August last year – 58.000 passengers.
It is also important to emphasize the percentage of load factor on Montenegro Airlines flights, which was 80% in July, which is a prestige indicator even for the leaders in the world market.
According to the indicators of our reservations department, Montenegro Airlines planes shall transport near 77.000 passengers in August, therefore we expect another record in this month.
In general, we could compare the period of the first seven months in 2004, when we transported 197.000 passengers, to the same period this year, when the number of transported passengers, up to 31st July, reached the figure 265.000. This means that in seven months of this year compared to the previous year, the number of transported passengers was increased for 34%.
