Notwithstanding the fact that the last year was the most challenging one in the history of civil aviation according to official IATA results, the Montenegrin air company Montenegro Airlines expects success in the upcoming tourist season, at least in regard to the French market.
In preparation for the upcoming tourist season, Montenegro Airlines held a traditional meeting of tour-operators, agencies and hoteliers from Montenegro and France on March 22, 2010, in cooperation with the National Tourism Organization.
These meetings of tourism delegates from Montenegro and France have been organized since 2005 under the auspices of the Montenegrin national air company and the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro.
The meeting was attended by more than 90 French tour-operators, agencies and journalists specializing in tourism and aviation. Montenegrin tourist offerings were presented by local tourism organizations, hoteliers and receptive agencies. The ambassador of Montenegro in France, Milica Pejanovic-Djurisic, also attended the meeting.
Director of Montenegro Airlines in Paris, Rajko Uskokovic, said that Montenegro Airlines has transported 100% more passengers in the first three months on its flights from France to Montenegro, and most of that percentage is made up of French tourists.
Uskokovic announced that beginning in April the Montenegrin air - company will have regular flights 5 times a week between Paris and Montenegro, and also that new flights are expected to be introduced.
If the trend from the beginning of the year continues, it is expected that more than 20, 000 French tourists will have been transported from France to Montenegro on Montenegro Airlines flights by the end of the year.
In addition to its touristic potential, the capital of France has positive significance for Montenegro Airlines, as the national air -company, because Paris's Charles de Gaule airport (which Montenegro Airlines flies from) is the second in the world in the number of transported passengers according to the official statistics of IATA for 2009.
"Regular flights, a modern fleet and the highest degree of security are incentives to all potential passengers to fly with Montenegro Airlines", Uskokovic pointed out.
The representative of the National Tourism Organizations, Emil Kukalj, emphasized that the French market is of extreme importance for Montenegro, because of the yearly increase in the number of tourists from France. "After this meeting, we expect even greater interest in Montenegro as a tourist destination", Kukalj pointed out.
