Montenegro Airlines was named the most punctual airline operating out of the Moscow Domodedovo Airport.
Montenegro Airlines, the national carrier of Montenegro, for the second time in a row has received substantial Russian aviation recognition for being the most punctual airline, operating out of the- Moscow Domodedovo Airport, into which many companies from all around the world operate hundreds of daily flights.
Chairman of Montenegro Airlines, Zoran Djurisic, was asked what the secret of Montenegro Airlines' punctuality was.
Besides safety, reliability is the very next important thing in aviation. The secret is that I personally have to be informed about every delay longer than 15 minutes. It is, also, important to distinguish between human and external factors because in the case of force mejeure, due to bad weather conditions or similar circumstances, we can do little about delays. I am in charge, the crew has to be ready on time, as well as, the technical staff, and everything has to function perfectly. It is a matter of good organization and a young team of employees at Montenegro Airlines. We were, also, among the ten most punctual airlines, operating out of Frankfurt Airport, and we were particularly happy to receive these two recognitions.
This is the third year that we have operated flights from Podgorica and Tivat to Russia. What was the main reason to start the flights to Russia, since there are already a large number of Russian charter companies operating?
It is no secret that a large number of Russians have come to Montenegro. Some were tourists and some bought real estate and permanently settled here. People started traveling throughout the year, so we estimated that, along with existing carriers such as Siberia Airlines and Moskovia Airlines, we should start to operate flights to Russia. Finding the Russian market attractive, we procured new Embraer planes, and together with our business partner Ratko Citakovic from R- tours, began operating 20 flights to Moscow and St. Petersburg. We opened our representative office, and in addition to these two cities, are considering some other attractive cities in Russia to begin flights to. I am proud that our load factor, the percent of available seats occupied, next to our flights to Belgrade, is the highest on our flights to Russia.
Winter is a calm period on the Montenegrin coast. What are Montenegro Airlines' plans for spring and summer concerning the Russian market?
We would be happy to keep the positive trend we had last year, when in July and August we had up to 20 round trips weekly. During the winter, we have 4 or 5 scheduled flights - weekly, and we expect to increase the number of flights during the summer.
Montenegro Airlines was founded 15 years ago. It operates 5 Fokker 100s and 2 cutting edge Embraer 195 planes. It has obtained the IOSA certificate, which is considered the most thorough and widely accepted international verification of civil aviation operational safety. Montenegro Airlines connects Montenegro and most European cities. Besides punctuality, Montenegro Airlines is considered to have the most pleasant cabin crew in Southeast Europe. |
