Podgorica, 20th June – Flights to new destinations, increase of frequencies on current flights and the implementation of low-cost model on certain number of flights starting from autumn were announced at the joint press conference between the Ministry of Tourism and Environment and Montenegro Airlines.
In the beginning of summer season, Montenegro Airlines will enlarge its fleet with new, modern aircraft type Embraer 195, which will enable the conquering of new markets.
The opening of new route to London, twice a week, is planned to be launched on the 15th June, and in July the Company will launch services to Milan.
Besides the new destinations towards London and Milan, Montenegro Airlines will also increase the number of frequencies on current destinations. In this summer season, Montenegro will be connected to Frankfurt on daily basis, to Moscow three times a week, and the passengers going to Paris will have the opportunity to fly on Montenegrin airline’s planes three times per week.
In addition to the mentioned destinations, the Company prepares the launching of new routes to Berlin, Brussels and Düsseldorf. Many of these plans will be realized due to the acquisition of the new aircraft type Embraer 195.
At the press conference, Minister Nenezic stated that the introduction of new destinations was for the benefit, not only of the tourism, but for the benefit of all citizens of Montenegro, and "of a special importance, now, when Montenegro is near the moment of visa liberalization for free movement of its citizens in all countries of EU".
In the first five months of current year Montenegro Airlines has transported 154.000 passengers, which is by 21% more than in the same period last year. This year, Montenegro Airlines expects to realize the record in the number of transported passengers and reach the figure of half a million.
Low Cost Ticket Sale System At the press conference, it was also stated that, starting from autumn, the low cost system of sales for 30 seats per flight, on the average, will be launched. According to this system the passengers of Montenegro Airlines will be able to book and buy tickets a month or two in advance, for a price that is four or five times less expensive than at the day before departure.
